Welcome to Janky Wheelhouse.
We are a Portland-based creative collective and youth arts program reclaiming the word “janky” as a badge of resilience, strength, and creativity. We uplift overlooked voices — young people, emerging artists, and those from underserved communities — by providing mentorship, creative opportunities, and platforms to shine. At our core, we believe art isn’t just expression, it’s transformation.

About the founder.
Jolly Wrapper (that’s Wrapper with a W) is the founder of Janky Wheelhouse, a Portland-based creative collective reclaiming the word “janky” as a symbol of resilience and creativity. An artist, poet, and community builder, Jolly created the collective to open doors for youth and emerging artists who are too often ignored by schools, left behind by systems, and excluded from the platforms where their voices belong.
Janky Wheelhouse offers mentorship, workshops, and showcases that give young people the chance to grow their craft, gain confidence, and see new possibilities for their future.
For Jolly, the mission is simple: Turn struggle into strength, brokenness into beauty, and self-expression into possibility. By leading with authenticity and care, Jolly has shaped Janky Wheelhouse into more than a program — it’s a family built on resilience, where artists rise together.
